I'll Read It

Have you ever hesitated to start a blog because you thought, "What if no one reads it?"

Well, I've got news for you – that excuse just flew out the window. I recently came across a brilliant idea from Manuel Moreale (Manu) who offered to be the first reader for anyone starting a blog. The concept is beautifully simple: start writing, send him your post, and boom – you've got your first reader.

This initiative resonated with me deeply. As someone who's been on the startup journey, I know how important it is to share our experiences, learnings, and ideas. But I also know how daunting it can be to put yourself out there.

The Growing "I'll Read It" Community

What started as Manu's offer has blossomed into a vibrant reading club with many interesting people. Bloggers from all walks of life are joining in, offering to be that crucial first reader for newcomers. It's like a support group for budding writers, and I absolutely love it.

Why I'm Joining (and Why You Should Too)

  1. Encouraging New Voices: Every great writer started somewhere. By being a dedicated reader, we can encourage more people to share their unique perspectives.

  2. Learning from Diverse Experiences: As a startup founder, I know the value of diverse viewpoints. This club exposes us to a wide range of topics and ideas.

  3. Building Connections: In the world of startups, networking is key. This is a fantastic way to connect with like-minded individuals.

  4. Improving My Own Writing: Reading others' work invariably improves our own writing skills.

  5. Paying It Forward: The startup community has been incredibly supportive of wisp. This is my way of giving back.

My Commitment

So, here's my pledge:

If you're thinking of starting a blog, or if you've already started but are hesitant to share, send your post my way.

I don't care about the topic, I'll read it as long as it's in English, and be your cheerleader as you embark on your writing journey.

How to Join the Club

  1. Start Writing: Don't overthink it. Just start putting your thoughts down.

  2. Send It Over: Once you've written something, send it my way.

  3. Keep Going: Add an RSS feed to your blog so I (and others) can keep up with your posts.

  4. Spread the Word: If you're up for it, consider becoming a reader for others too!

How to Send it to Me

Just drop what you've written here.

There's only one compulsory field - the url of your written blog post.

Once you've submitted it, it automatically goes onto my reading list and if you provide an email I'll write back!

The Growing List of Readers

I'm not alone in this endeavor. There's a growing list of amazing people who have offered to be first readers. Here's a list of blogger committing to the I'll Read It movement:

Let's Build This Together

Whether you're a seasoned blogger or just starting out, there's a place for you in this community. Let's support each other, learn from one another, and create a vibrant ecosystem of indie hackers, founders, and writers.

So, what do you say?

Ready to start writing? Or maybe you want to join as a reader? Either way, I'm here for it.

Remember, your voice matters. Your experiences are unique. And I, for one, can't wait to read what you have to say.

Happy writing, and even happier reading!
